Cn. Beasley’s Retirement & Leave

This announcement was originally posted on the Diocese of the Upper Midwest’s website. You can read the original post here.

Dear Upper Midwest Diocese,

I would like to update you on the status of Canon William Beasley. As you may be aware, he officially retired as Missioner General of the Greenhouse Movement on October 4, 2021.

In addition, the Province and Diocese would like to provide some clarification on Canon Beasley’s leave of absence within the Upper Midwest:

Archbishop Foley, in consultation with the Bishop’s Council of The Diocese of the Upper Midwest on October 4, 2021, and the Provincial Response Team, has requested a leave of absence from priestly ministry (teaching, preaching, celebrating the sacraments, etc.) of Canon William Beasley, the recently retired Missioner General of Greenhouse. Canon Beasley’s leave will remain through the expanded investigation overseen by the Province. His leave of absence is neither a suspension nor an inhibition but an opportunity to provide distance during the expanded investigation stemming from allegations of abuse in the Diocese of the Upper Midwest.

If you would like to receive updates from the Provincial Response Team, you can subscribe here. (If you already receive emails from ACNA, update your preferences and “Opt-In” to receive updates from the response team.) You can also bookmark this Diocesan webpage for links to these updates and our past letters regarding the ongoing investigation.

In Christ,

Fr. Alex Cameron
Chair
The Bishop’s Council
Diocese of the Upper Midwest
